Confession Time–when it comes to makeup I am kind of a cheap-o, I know it is kind of shocking because for anyone that knows me knows I love makeup. I just hate spending tons of money on it. I have people ask me all the time what products I use, so I wanted to share some of my favorites with you guys! Products that you can by at a local CVS or Walmart and not go broke on!
1. L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara
Okay, this mascara rocks! I know a lot of people have tried the new fancy mascaras they have out on the market (which I have not yet tried) and swear by those but I it would take a lot for someone to get me to switch… I just like this one so much! I love the way it goes on and it doesn’t clump for me. The only thing that bugs me is after long hours of wear it will flake under the eyes (sometimes). You can find this product at almost any drug store and is $5.84 at Walmart.
2.Ardell Demi Wispies
I have used a lot of fake eye lashes and these are by far my favorite. I like these so much because you can wear them for anything they are so versatile. I know whenever I wear fake eyelashes I don’t like them to be very noticeable, unless I am going to an event. I want my lashes to look fabulous but also natural looking. These definitely do just that. If I had the time to put them on every day, then I would! You can buy a 4 pack of these at Walmart for around 8 dollars, which is cheaper that buying a single pair.
3. Ardell Brow Defining Powder (Mink Brown)
BROWS, BROWS, BROWS. BROWS, ARE SO IMPORTANT. I always say, eyebrows can either make or break a pretty face. To me, filling in your eyebrows is something that really finishes off your makeup look. This mink brown color is a great color for most brunettes to use. Depending on your shade of hair color you can either lightly apply this color or darken it with more layers (strokes) with the brush. This is a must have in my makeup bag! This little powder is $4.49 at CVS.
4. e.l.f. Matte Lip Stick (Praline)
I am seriously OBSESSED with this lip color. Every time I wear it I have at least two girls ask me where it’s from and what kind it is, so here it is ladies! This is probably the best thing I have on this list because it’s so great and can be worn with literally anything, every single day. The best part about this product is that is is only $3 at Target!!!!!!! You read it right… THREE DOLLARS! You can’t find lipstick anywhere for three dollars these days, unless you are at the dollar store. I have even seen e.l.f. products sold at some Walmart’s now too.
5. e.l.f. Lip Liner w/Blending Brush (Wine)
Since I am such a cheap-o when it comes to make up obviously I love e.l.f. because it is so affordable. This lip liner is fantastic y’all. Most of the time when I use this liner I apply it to my entire lips and use it as a lipstick too, I just love the color so much! This color also blends so well with other dark shapes of lipstick like plums, cranberry, and red shades. This is at Target (or Walmart, if you can find it) for $3!!! Such a steal.
6. NYC *loose* Setting Powder (Translucent)
I like to use this loose powder after applying all my face makeup. There are some really pricey setting powders out on the market that I have used and honestly like this one so much better. I dust a little of this all over my face and especially under my eyes for that clean flush look on top of my concealer. I love this stuff because it is only $2.74 at Walmart and lasts you FOREVER.
7. Essie Nail Polish
Typically I don’t ever paint my own nails anymore, because one of my favorite things to do is get my nails done…but I threw this one in my top favs just for fun! A few years ago I used to be obsessed with painting my nails. I did it every two days, if not ever day (ridiculous I know). I just loved it so much; I think it was a therapeutic thing for me. Essie is honestly one of my favorite polishes because I feel like it dries much faster and still looks good, compared to most Sally Hansen nail polishes or other brands on the market. You can find this product at any CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart, etc. for around $8. This might seem like a lot for nail polish but it is so good and last for a long time, depending on how often you use it.
8. Revlon PhotoReady Concealer (Light)
I have used a lot of different concealers and this is by far one of the best that I have tried. This is one of the more expensive items on my list but it is worth it. It is just the right amount of coverage for me and I even got my sisters using it, so it works for other people too! This little guy is around $7.39 at Target.
Happy shopping y’all!
XO,
